Before I get into the homie Kendrick Lamar, the name of the mixtape is Kendrick Lamar. Now. Lol. Introducing Kendrick Lamar out of Jay Rock’s camp Top Dog Entertainment. His name used to be K-Dot but he has developed into more of a mature artist and I that probably led him to using his full name. What I like about Kendrick Lamar is choice of subject matter and his choice lyricism and beat selection. Everything chosen on this ‘tape seemed to geared to showcasing his abilities as an artist. For me, it worked. He shows certain views on different things such as faith, love, and vanity. I pray that Jay Rock drops his album “Follow Me Home,” so Kendrick Lamar can get his chance.
